Question by Bill N: What are the necessary steps for becoming a salesman?
My life ambition is to travel the US or world while pursuing a meaningful career in sales. My talents lie in working with people, writing, extremely positive minded, good business sense, motivational speaking, etc. I have previously attempted home base business and ended up overextending myself. I have a knack for seeing the “big picture” of business more than specific details.
All thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.

Although I am not in sales, I would recommend taking courses if not pursue a degree in business administration with an emphasis on International Business (if you haven’t done so already). Other than that, I can only say that the first step is finding your niche and focusing on it whether it be in technological sales, pharmaceutical sales, and etc. Also, professional sales is a profession that involves a great deal of self-motivation. I have a couple of friends involved in pharmaceutical sales and they say that what you get out of it completely depends on how much you put in.
Overall, you should be fine as long as you have a passion for what you are doing. You might not know at the moment where your passions lie but through experience, you will be able to determine that and be successful in your endeavors.
