Q&A: How much housework do you do where one partner works and the other doesn’t?

Question by Andrew B: How much housework do you do where one partner works and the other doesn’t?
Does the partner who works outside the home help with cleaning chores when they have a partner who does not work outside the home? (Home-based businesses and working from home are excluded as they still count as a job).

Thanks

My husband works and I do not BUT I am at home with our daughter all day long and I am in school. I do the chores because I am home more than him and can tidy up throughout the day. However I do get help from our babysitter because sometimes it’s just too much. Our home is small and we have A LOT of clutter and things get piled up pretty fast. He used to help out, sometimes he’ll take out the trash on his way to work, but for the most part I do the cleaning. I’m OK with it somebody has to clean and it makes sense for the person who’s home the most and has the time to do it.
