Q&A: Do I register my business in my home county if I live on the road or is it more complicated than that?

Question by x_kookoo4kokopuffs_x: Do I register my business in my home county if I live on the road or is it more complicated than that?
I live full time in an RV. I want to register my business. I understand I have to do it on a county and a state level.

My business will be an online business, but I also want to be able to sell in cities I travel to. How does this work?

didn’t you already post this? – contact your town (not county) business office and home state dept of revenue and ask what you do – you have to have a drivers license in some state and vehicle insurance based in some state – that should be your home state then for everything –

where does mail get sent for your bills? address on drivers license and vehicle registration?

for income tax, business taxes (including sales tax – which you’ll need, along with sales tax exemption certificates to prevent vendors from charging you sales tax if applicable)

anyone paying you more than $ 600 may ask you to fill out a W-9 for 1099 purposes, so you’ll need to put an address there for that
