I started a home based business, but I’m starting to wonder if I need a license to continue operating?
And what about taxes, how do I do that part right?
Maybe I should of done a bit more inquiring before starting this up.
I already have clients now, what do I do?

Yes, you need a license from your municipality. Go to their office to find out what you need to do. As for your taxes, instructions concerning them will come in your Federal/State Income Tax Return next year (if you just started the business this year). I would get your municipal business license ASAP, and ask your clients to wait for a few days before money changes hands. If they have paid by cheque or cash already, hold on to it until you get your license. Yes, you should have done more inquiring before starting up.
