Can Australian citizen who has online home-based business (who customers are American) apply to live in USA?

Question by Tom: Can Australian citizen who has online home-based business (who customers are American) apply to live in USA?
Hi,
I am an Australian citizen. I want to live in America because I think Australia is so expensive (food, service, cable TV, etc) & so boring for me.
Currently, I am a sole trader. I have ABN number & an online home-based business. All my customers are American. I got income from an US based company.
Can I apply to live in USA?(with reason as a Australian company that invests into US)

LOL! You think Oz is expensive? The US is the second most expensive country to do business in the world. On the other hand, for non-resident non-citizens, it is the world’s greatest tax haven. That means you have biz in the greatest tax haven. You lose those phenomenal benefits if you move to US!

As for personal living costs, not just business, the US has a taxaholic government and total tax bite runs about 50% for couples, closer to 70% for singles. Federal income tax, state income tax (local income tax if you live OR work in NYC); Social Security & Medicare taxes; taxes on all utilities, phone service, cable, internet, etc; property taxes, school taxes, sewer taxes; sales taxes; taxes on cars (sales, annual registration, inspection fees, tags, and more)… There are lots more taxes!

You’ve got it made, bud. Stay in Oz. Tens of thousands of Americans wish they were you, lucky enough to live there.

If you’re making good money, travel! And do come visit the US – love to have you, lots to see & do.

But if you are in business, I can assure you, you do NOT want to move you & your biz to US. And you especially do not want to move to US while BO is wrecking the place. Stay put!
