I’m planning on having a website, but would it also benefit me to join Facebook ??? Or would that just be waisted time and energy?? what does this social networks do that my website cannot do?? if that IS the way to go, suggest what a better way for a online business promotion ?

These answers people give are killing me. LOL In order for anyone to accurately answer your question, they would need to know what kind of website you want to promote first. A promotional technique that works for one online business will not always work for another.
