I am starting an online only business. What legalities do I have to be concerned with? Do I have to get a permit? A lawyer? Etc?

Whether or not you need a business license depends on your locality. I sell online but am not required to have a license in my county. I don’t think you necessarily need a lawyer unless you’re dealing with contracts but again, you might. Definitely get a good cpa, and keep all your receipts. I collect and pay sales tax to my state for sales to customers in my state. It’s easy and can be done on line. Main thing is to keep great records!
