How to start a home based photography business. My friend is very good in taking pictures and now she wants to go into business.
She has all the equiplents but want to have ideas about how to set up a business. She would be doing on-location shoots and not in home based studio.
Who all does she needs to contact – for licence, permit or registering name ect – step- by- step info would be really helpful.

I think you should go see your local “Small Business” centre to check out the details. The person who previously answered your question was speaking of laws from California. They’ll be different for Canada.
You will have to register your business name, register for PST and vendor’s permit, and if you plan to make more than $ 30 000 per year, you’ll also have to register for a GST number.
You’ll also want to look into liability insurance, in the event that someone’s pictures don’t turn out. Hope that helps.
