Question by Spirited Virgo: Can you be a successful accountant without becoming a CPA?
I’m a senior accounting major and I am not sure if I want to go for the masters and become a CPA. In the beginning I did but now I have two toddlers and I don’t know if I would have the time to devote it school right now. I am considering maybe starting a home-based business doing consultation or bookkeeping. I do not want to become a millionaire or anything just make a comfortable salary every month. Maybe $ 3000-$ 4000 a month. Does this sound like a good idea?

Well, I am sure you know the advantages of being a CPA. But sure, you can go ahead with your plan doing bookkeeping and consultation. Businesses are outsourcing many tasks that used to be done by in-house personnel. Good luck!
Peace and blessings!
