I’m currently going for an accounting degree in college, but I’d love to have my own business. Will having an accounting degree help me if I want to have my own business? I don’t want a huge business, more of a small home-based/freelancing business.

Of course it will help you. You can do your own finance. A Lot of small biz shut down because of mismanaged funds.
