Question by Rocco Agarenzo: I have an idea for an online business?
I dont know where to get started though.. I have a solid business plan but dont know how the legal side works. Do i need to be licensed to start an online business? Also how would i protect myself from people stealing the idea? I have many questions and you probably can see where im going with this so please, any info help! THANKS!!

Call your local or state Department of Business or Industry or whatever it is called and ask them how to register an online business.
As for someone stealing the idea once you are up and running, unless your idea is based on some revolutionary piece of software, anyone can steal it/borrow it/adapt it, whatever – welcome to capitalism. Ideas are not protected (inventions are, trademarks are, and works of art/intellect are), but business ideas are not (otherwise we’d have monopolies (1 Amazon, 1 oil company, etc.)
