Do I need a business license for an online business?

Question by JimenaG: Do I need a business license for an online business?
I am planning to start an online only business for computer services. It would be based from my home, and eventually if I get enough customers I would open a shop. I would be the only person working there unless it would get too big for just me. Do I need a license in the state of Illinois, more specificly Chicago Suburbs, to start an online business? Is there anything else I might need to be “legal?”

Honestly, man, go ask your county clerk, or city hall. You need to talk to them about the business license anyway when you buy it, so they’ll be the ones to tell you whether you need one or not.
