Why do people think product upsells are a scam? I’m sure you’ve heard this before, so let me explain…
When people hear about companies in our niche that have upsells, they immediately think it’s a bad thing. Before they even look into the company, they go online and post something like, “This company is a scam, and all they try to do is upsell you to buy more products.”
First of all, anyone who calls upselling a scam is naive about business in general, because any successful business sells more products to its client base. This is called getting back-end sales, and it’s not a scam.
Is McDonald’s scamming you?
Let’s say you go to McDonald’s and order a Big Mac by itself. What’s the next question they’ll ask you every time? “Would you like fries with that?” or “Would you like to upsize to a large combo?” And if you say yes, then of course they’ll upgrade your order and give you fries or make it a large drink.
McDonald’s trains all employees to ‘upsell’ every customer, and it’s done all day, every day, in every country.
Do the customers call this upselling a scam? NO, of course not. You wouldn’t say to the person behind the counter, “How dare you try to sell me those fries, are you trying to scam me?” That would be ridiculous.
All successful businesses have upsells and back-end promotions.
Every successful business has front-end products to acquire new customers, and then they have back-end programs that offer more products.
So if you ever encounter someone saying you shouldn’t have upsells, then just point out what I just said to you. Explain that it’s insane because every successful business has upsells—including McDonald’s.
If someone doesn’t like being “sold,” they will also have problems making sales.
When a person calls your business a scam because you upsell more products, it actually reveals their own hesitation. It reveals the fear of selling something of value, and asking for something in return.
If they have hang-ups about selling or being ‘sold,’ they will often really struggle with selling products in their own business.
But what if YOU are the one who is negative?
If you find yourself having a negative reaction to upsells, you might want to examine your own internal dialogue about selling.
Let’s say you attend a three-day event where they offer a lot of programs, and you hear other people making comments about it being a “pitch fest.” Don’t let their negative attitude affect your thinking!
Personally, if I attend an event and people are selling their products at the end, as long as they’re offering value at the same time, I have no problem with them selling. If they offer me a way to get continuous value or education, I want them to sell to me.
So just have a look at your own thoughts around ‘selling’ and ‘being sold.’ If you need to make an adjustment in your mindset here, then make that adjustment.
And if you want a system that does the selling for you, I have a good opportunity for you… It’s called the “Patriot Funnel System” (or “PFS”), and it could be your ticket to financial freedom.
All you have to do is apply the system and go through the simple steps, and if you follow through, you can generate enough income for personal and financial freedom.
The genius of PFS is that it’s so simple and easy anyone can do it even if they have no experience online.
In fact, I’ll reveal how regular people from all over the world – including even an 85-year old man – have made life-changing money with this system.
Some of these people are even making $10,000 or more per month with this system…
— Without creating their own products
— Without building websites
— Without dealing with customers
— Without managing staff
The Patriot Funnel System gives you all the tools, training, and personal coaching you need to make $100s, $1000s… even tens of thousands per month—and do it over and over again.
