I recommend the Canon series of printers like the Pixma IP4300. HP, Epson, Lexmark and others make good printers too, but I prefer the Canon for a couple of reasons.

Like the Epsons and Lexmarks, the Canon has a straighter paper path making heavier card stock easier to pass through than the HP models which has a curved paper path. Many HP printers print business cards just fine, I just have had more complaints on those for card stock than any others.

Canon and Epson also have many printers that use individual ink tanks which saves you $ in the long run. If the yellow cartridge is empty, that’s all you replace. The entry level HP’s (under $ 200) and most of the Lexmarks use an ink cartridge that has all 3 colors in 1 cartridge. If the yellow runs out, you toss the remaing cyan and magenta as well. The main reason I choose Canon over Epson is that Epson pumps the ink from the tanks to a reservoir. If you don’t print regularly, the reservoir will ‘cake’ up and eventually clog making the printer useless without replacing the expensive reservoir. Canon’s individaul tanks do not do this making it the winner for me. I personally own 2 of them and sell more Canon’s than the rest of the others combined in my store.

The Pixma IP4300 sells most places, including my store, for $ 99.99
